About the Artists

David Christopher is a fine art photographer born and raised in Newark, NJ. With a discipline in portrait and documentary photography, his work is influenced by community, fashion, and black culture. Growing up in Newark and utilizing his experience as a black queer male, Christopher’s creative objective is to reflect concern for truth and beauty in the world. Christopher’s very deliberate use of light and color creates moody atmospheres of nostalgia and mystery, leading to rich intensity between the lens and his subjects. Graduating from Fairleigh Dickenson University with a BA and MA in Mass Media Communication in 2015, he began his career as a production studio professional, working for studios like Marvel Entertainment, NBCUniversal, and FX Network. It was during this time that Christopher discovered his artistic calling for photography. Working with vintage cameras and film, managed to teach himself photography against the backdrop of NYC.

Beryl Goldberg is a photographer of the people: people in their daily life, people at work, at rest, play with families or alone at events. She strives to bring out the best in people and present the power that exists in each of us. Based in New York City, Beryl has traveled around the world on assignment for various international organizations and major publishers. Her clients have included UN agencies, the New York Times and Planned Parenthood. Beryl is a graduate of Douglass College of Rutgers University. She also did graduate work at New York University, studied French at the University of Bordeaux, and Arabic at the Bourguiba School in Tunisia. She studied photography with Harold Feinstein and Lisette Model.

Sontonya Nechal is a self-taught mixed media, abstract artist that dances with various textures in her unique canvas pieces. Her work comes from a place of brokenness, abuse, and hardship as well as the strength found in her faith. She makes work that is rich in color, layered with texture capturing the rawness of her emotions. Sontonya is also a writer and has published two books in honor of her late son, Rashaun Donaldson. Her life is her canvas and she colorfully expresses her true self and the power to fiercely overcome brokenness one canvas at a time.

D. Del Reverda-Jennings is a self-taught Alaskan Native, Midwest-based artist whose interdisciplinary practice draws from a kaleidoscope of cultural nuance, insight, connection and experience. She creates dimensional, conceptual, installation, and public artworks that feature symbolism pervasive of African and Latin Diasporic cultures connected to her lineage, ancestral spirit and the Divine Feminine. Her visual research is a reflective interpretation of the feminine as a physical/spiritual entity that possesses the potential to be powerful, nurturing, and limitless while proudly carrying the physical and emotional detritus bearing witness to life’s survival and ties to the past. D. works in mixed media integrating vibrant hues, organic patinas, complex surfaces and incised reliefs, chasing and repoussé, forged metal embellishments, natural elements, handwrought treatments and emphasized textures. Her fine artwork has been exhibited internationally and has been acquired for private and corporate collections.
