The inaugural exhibition at Paul Robeson Galleries new exhibition space at Express Newark. The exhibition celebrated the 50th anniversary of Rutgers Newark’s’ Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS). On display were rare artifacts like Miles Davis’s trumpet, photos, documents, and audio recordings to explore jazz history and the IJS’s role in preserving it. The exhibit, which also had a companion catalog, aimed to engage the community and teach about jazz history and archival literacy.
