About

Kevin Darmanie discusses his work and leads participants in a hands-on art making activity inspired by the materials, methods, and perspectives of his practice. All skill levels welcome! Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Darmanie lives and works in Newark, New Jersey. He has produced paintings, murals, installations, comic books, and works on paper. Darmanie’s watercolors originally incorporated tropes of graphic novels to re-examine Caribbean attitudes, social critique, and introspection. This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Mirror Mirror. Free and open to everyone. Art materials and refreshments provided.
