For centuries, the presentation of one’s physical appearance has intersected with opportunities to communicate a variety of messages—aesthetic as well as social, cultural, and political. Dressedshowcases artists who use elements of fashion in their work to not only acknowledge traditional methods of representation, but to imagine contemporary and future narratives in relation to topics such as age, race, beauty, gender, sexuality, politics, and more.
