Dear friends of Paul Robeson Galleries,
As part of a state-wide campaign to fight the Coronavirus, on Saturday, March 21st, Governor Murphy made an executive order instructing New Jersey residents to stay at home and non-essential businesses to close. To comply with Governor Murphy’s executive order, Paul Robeson Galleries is temporarily closed. Given the evolving nature of the outbreak, we will carefully reassess the situation in the coming weeks and share updates as they become available.
In the interim I would like to welcome you to a new, online initiative. As this is the 40th anniversary of the galleries we will be taking this time to celebrate the artists who we have had the pleasure of working with over the last four decades. Periodically we will update our website, and social media highlighting the artists who have inspired, provoked, challenged, and enriched our lives. We will also invite artists to submit their work for inclusion. More information about this program is forthcoming and will be shared via our newsletter.
While we may not be in the gallery, we are still thinking about our community. In the coming weeks, we will publish online content for home-based art activities for families and share resources for artists impacted by COVID-19, like this one compiled by the National Endowment for the Arts.
We look forward to welcoming you back onsite to see art and participate in programs sometime in the future. On behalf of everyone at the Paul Robeson Galleries, I hope you stay well and as calm as possible under the circumstances.
Sincerely,
Anonda Bell
Director & Chief Curator
