About

Posters and signs are an important means of communication, especially in times of crisis. Join us in making posters and signs, with the objective of raising awareness and sending messages of care, gratitude, and solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For inspiration, we will look closely at work created in response to COVID-19 by members of Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, a network of 29 artists committed to social, environmental, and political engagement. Their exhibition Voices From Outside: Critical Resistance was installed at Rutgers University-Newark’s Criminal Justice building. Then, we will design our own text and graphics to communicate our meaningful messages. RSVP required. Zoom details will be sent via email confirmation.

Materials:

A few sheets of paper (ideally 8.5”x11” or 11”x17”)

Drawing materials: pencil, pen, colored pencils, crayons, markers

Optional: scissors, gluestick, tape

Any other materials you would like to use, such as pastels, paints, collage, etc.
