Join us for a workshop on the ins and outs of crafting your best application. During this hour-long workshop, you’ll learn how to develop a toolkit of application materials, some of the “do’s & don’ts” of applying for grants, and how to make your application stand out to reviewers.  Newark Artist Database and Newark Arts Creative Convenings are thrilled to present a free year-long virtual workshop series for multidisciplinary visual artists in the Newark area. This partnership was developed to create sustainable support for our local creative community via professional development workshops, virtual networking opportunities, resources and more. The series will kick off on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 and continue through the Spring 2022.

Host Sophia Kayfas discusses isolation of quarantine with Turkish American painter Buket Savci, an immigrant whose paintings portray the joy of contact. The new ALL ARTS short documentary film series "Flowstate /North Brooklyn Artists" explores what it means to be an artist in the northern Brooklyn neighborhoods of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick during summer 2020. Series hosts Ralf Jean-Pierre and Sophia Kayafas visit 16 artists in their homes and studios, looking at their gritty, inner worlds, and engaging in sincere conversations with a range of emerging, mid-career and established artists from diverse backgrounds.
