This program is associated with the exhibition, Feast & Famine, which explores food as a social, political, and bodily phenomenon. The exhibition considers food as a commodity; the relationship between food, death, sex, and the abject; food’s relationship to global economics and geo-politics; food and its likeness as a medium for artistic experimentation; the food chain and the environmental impacts of food production; and food justice. Feast & Famine gathers together works in a variety of media from artists and artist collectives working nationally and internationally, at different stages in their career.
Keary Rosen is an interdisciplinary artist working in drawing, photography, video, performance and kinetic sculpture. His work has been exhibited widely in numerous venues both nationally and internationally including: The Philadelphia ICA, The RISD Museum, The Carnegie Museum of Art, The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe, The Annmarie Sculpture Garden, Art Basel Miami, The Basement Project Space in Ireland, The Nunnery Gallery in London, MMX Open Art Venue in Berlin, The 15 Minutes Gallery in Pittsburgh, Rush Gallery in New York City. He has executed performance works at sites in Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Keary received his BFA from The Maine College of Art and his MFA from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
